18 से 26 साल की 148 महिलाओ को लेकर किये गए इस रिसर्च के मुख्य शोध्कर्ता प्रोफेसर कोलिन के मुताबिक जिन महलओ के बाकी महिलाओ की तुलना में बड़े हिप्स होते है उन्हें बच्चे को जन्म देने में काफी आसानी होती है। प्रोफ़ेसर की माने तो बड़े हिप्स वाली महिलाये बिना किसी खास परेशानी के बच्चे को जन्म दे सकती है ।
जबकि इसकी तुलना में छोटे हिप्स वाली महिलाओ को बच्चे पैदा करने में बेहद ही दर्द का सामना करना पड़ता है। शायद यही कारण है जब कोई महिला किसी पुरष के साथ सम्बन्ध बनाने लग जाती है तो उसके हिप्स का अकार धीरे धीरे बढ़ने लग जाता है।
